Ystad John Doe was a man whose torso and legs were found on a beach in Ystad, Sweden. Few details are available about his case.
Case[]
On 10 October 1875, two fishermen from the village of Revhusen discovered the decomposing torso and legs of a man on a beach in Ystad, Sweden, on Sweden's Baltic Sea coast near a firing range named the Sharpshooters' Pavilion.
The police were informed and found that the corpse had decayed to the point that only the naked torso and legs were left, and the smell had given the responding officers some difficulty. No personal belongings or clothing were found at the scene. After the remains were placed in a coffin and transported to the local hospital, they were soon handed over to the cemetery and buried on 12 October, listed as "an unidentified man." It was never determined when he had died or how long he had been in the water, and no cause of death was ever established.
