Yangzhuang John Doe was the third victim of the "The Henan Gay Murderer", a nickname used to describe Chinese serial killer Li Zhanguo, who raped and mutilated 11 mentally disabled teenagers and young adults before being arrested and executed.
Case[]
On July 29, 1992, the police found the body of a man in an abandoned explosives-storing warehouse. The body was heavily decomposed and based on an autopsy, it was determined he had been killed via blunt force trauma by an unknown weapon. On the walls of the building "I am the killer" and "Sacrifice" had been written in blood.
The police questioned the local villagers, who explained that on July 26, a neatly dressed young man had accompanied the decedent from the Yangzhuan railway station along the highway to the crime scene, with him reportedly hitting the deceased with a stick during the journey. Later the same evening, the two were seen sleeping in a wheat field and on the morning of July 27, it was reported that the man lead the deceased naked to the warehouse. The man was later observed sitting on the steps of the property alone without the deceased present. Based on this testimony, it was determined that the deceased had been killed on July 27.
