Wendy Jamie Abrams-Nishikai (born January 15, 1968) was a young woman found deceased at the bottom of an embankment along a road in the Sierra Foothills in Colfax, California in 1990.
She was identified in 2025.
Case[]
Abrams-Nishikai was last seen alive in Berkeley on Halloween night, 1989. At the time of her disappearance, she was a student at UC-Berkeley and had a young daughter. She was described as extroverted and usually in high spirits.
She was officially identified through genetic genealogy in January 2025, after a potential match came to light with her mother. Police had previously received tips that the remains were hers, based on her distinctive chest tattoo.
Abrams-Nishikai had no known links to Placer County, California. It would also have been out of character for her to voluntarily go missing; investigators have stated they believe foul play was involved in her disappearance and death.
