Tammie Charlene Liles (May 9, 1967 - c. June 9, 1983), formerly known as Jane Doe B-20 or "Bones 20" and commonly listed as being discovered in 2003, was a teenage girl who was one of the Green River victims of serial killer Gary Ridgway.
Case[]
Liles' skeletal remains were found in two separate locations. Remains found at the Tualatin Golf Course in Tigard, Oregon, on April 23, 1985, were identified as belonging to her via dental records three years later. The remains of Angela Girdner were found nearby and went unidentified until 2009. Liles was not officially reported missing until just before the match to the Tigard remains. She was known to be involved in sex work at the time she disappeared.
With the cooperation of Gary Ridgway, after pleading guilty to his crimes, he directed investigators to where he left a previously undiscovered victim after returning to his favored dumping grounds in 2003. Believing the partial skeleton, lacking a skull, belonged to an additional victim, the victim was referred to as "Bones 20" or "Jane Doe B-20". It was thought death could have occurred at any point during the nearly 20 years of the offender’s activity, with authorities favoring the early 1970s.
The DNA Doe Project originally took the case, hoping to use genetic genealogy to ascertain her identity. Othram would later be involved, announcing their success in January 2024.
Gary Ridgway had previously told investigators he had not killed Liles nor Angela Girdner prior to the identification of the remains located in 2003.
