Tymon Joseph Emily was a young man found murdered in a vacant building in Missouri in 1992.
He was identified by the DNA Doe Project on March 25, 2022, which was coincidentally the anniversary of his disappearance on March 25, 1990, when he left the home where he was staying to go and visit his uncle.
He was reported missing to police in 1991, with his family later erecting a headstone engraved with the word 'missing'.
Case[]
Emily's skeletal remains were found on March 7, 1992, in a burnt-out commercial building by workers disconnecting a gas line. It was estimated that he had been dead for up to three years before his discovery.
Investigators ascertained he had been murdered, based on marks on his rib bones consistent with stab wounds. It was initially thought the remains were those of an older African American man, until further investigation showed him to be a white teenager.
