St. Martins John Doe was a West African boy who was killed onboard the Hope in 1830 when it was wrecked on St. Martins Head in the Isles of Scilly. The ship was wrecked after mistaking a daytime marker for the St. Agnes lighthouse. He is buried in the cemetery of St. Martins Church.
