
St. Clair County Jane Doe was a woman whose skeletal remains were found in rural Mascoutah, Illinois, on January 30, 2002.
She is possibly a victim of serial killer and rapist Maury Troy Travis.

Discovery[]
Illinois Department of Transportation workers discovered the decedent's skeletal remains near mile marker 22 on Interstate 64. The site was off the roadway on the east side of the Silver Creek overpass.
Suspect[]
She is believed to be a victim of serial killer and rapist Maury Troy Travis despite her cause of death being undetermined. Authorities theorize that he possibly murdered between twelve and twenty women in Missouri and Illinois from 2000 to 2002. These potential victims include Madison County Jane Doe, St. Charles County Jane Doe, and Carol Hemphill. However, Travis never confessed to any involvement in these crimes. He died by suicide in his cell at the St. Louis County Jail in Clayton, Missouri, on June 10, 2002, at the age of 36.
Characteristics[]
- Three piercings in the right ear.
- Healed fracture on the distal left fibula (just above ankle).
- Fractured section of the fibula fused to the tibia.
- Healed fracture of the nasal bones, left second rib, distal radius (wrist), and right manubrium (right-center of chest below the neck).

- Black velour Jason Matthews brand sleeveless jumpsuit with full-length legs found on the body.
- Small, thin, 14-carat gold or yellow metal band worn on the left middle finger, size 7 1/4.
- Costume-style gold or yellow metal ring containing a clear light blue central stone with multiple smaller clear green stones around it worn on the left middle finger.
