Shelby County John Doe was a full-term baby boy who was discovered in a package in Memphis, Tennessee on January 18, 1944.

On January 18, 1944, the Memphis Post Office received a package postmarked to Montgomery, Alabama with a date of January 8, 1944 and the return address was a fake Chattanooga, Tennessee address. The postal inspector became suspicious when he detected a foul odor from the package. When he opened it, he discovered the victim in the package.
He was buried ten days after his discovery at the now-defunct Shelby County Cemetery.
