Sevier County John Doe was a man whose skeleton was found in a wooded area of Tennessee by a random
bystander. It appears that he had been dead for a very long time before his remains were recovered. The path where the remains were found had been closed off for several years.
The name Dennis Allan Hunter has been posited as a possible identity for this decedent. 36-year-old Hunter had gone missing in 2003 from Simpsonville, South Carolina, and several of his belongings, including a truck, a motorcycle, and his wallet, were later discovered in Eastern Tennessee.
