San Diego County John Doe was a man whose body was recovered from Lake Calaveras in Carlsbad, California. He was initially discovered by two people floating face down about two or three feet from the lake's southern shoreline. Some clothing, found neatly folded on a nearby tree limb, was believed to belong to him. It also appeared that he had set up a small campsite nearby.

  • Blue, red, band white plaid long-sleeve western-style shirt with pearl-like buttons.
  • Yellow long-sleeve shirt with pearl-like buttons.
  • Faded blue hooded sweatshirt with C.L. LIEU label.
  • Levi style jeans with Gloria Vanderbilt label on the back pocket.
  • Dark blue jeans worn inside the other pair of jeans.
  • Dirty gray Umerco left jogger shoe with white trim, size 7. Found at the bottom of a ten-foot bluff near the water below the campsite.
  • Billfold wallet with Spanish text reading "EL DIA 27 DE ABRIL DE 1984, CARLO GOMEZ S." printed on the inside leather flap found in the rear left pocket.
  • Folded piece of paper kept inside the wallet with two addresses, possibly for places in Baja California, Mexico. There were also several names and telephone numbers with 209 area codes assigned to Madera County, California. Another name/telephone number written on the paper was for a man named Victor Flores, who lived in Walla Walla, Washington.
