Ružín Reservoir Jane Doe was a murder victim whose disfigured body was discovered by workers at the Ružín Reservoir Dam near Košice, Slovakia, on 11 October 1981.

Case[]

On 11 October 1981, workers at the Ružín Reservoir Dam came across the body of a woman submerged in the flooded tank. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, with the head and wrists severed. It had been bound with wire to a stone, suggesting deliberate efforts to conceal a crime.

Approximately a year later, a soldier named Ladislav Hojer was detained for questioning in connection with the murder of 51-year-old Anna Š. at her residence in Prague, Czech Republic. During interrogation, Hojer confessed to his involvement in at least four other homicides, including that of this unidentified victim. In his confession, Hojer recounted visiting a friend in Košice during his military leave and deciding to stop at the dam, a popular recreational site. Finding the area deserted due to poor weather, except for a woman observing the dam, Hojer proceeded to assault the victim, removing her clothing, raping her, and ultimately strangling her to death. He then used wire and a stone to weigh down the body before disposing of it in the reservoir, where natural decomposition led to the detachment of the head and wrists due to water exposure.

Ladislav Hojer was later executed at Pankrác Prison in Prague on 8 August 1986.
