"Rosie" was the possible name of a young woman that Curtis Dean Anderson confessed to killing between February and March 1997. Her remains have not been located or linked to an existing unidentified person case.
Case[]
In November 2007, FBI agents interviewed violent pedophile Curtis Dean Anderson, who was convicted and sentenced to over 300 years in prison for the 1999 kidnapping and murder of 7-year-old Xiana Fairchild in Vallejo, California, and other crimes. Anderson confessed to ten murders, eight in the United States and two in Mexico. Fairchild and Amber Swartz-Garcia were two in the United States, and he did not give any details about the Mexican murders.
The seventh victim Anderson confessed to killing was a woman named "Rosie" with noticeable "junkie tracks" on her arms. He allegedly met her at a bar called "The Bears." This bar was located under Highway 87 in San Jose, California, near a bowling alley, and was frequented by Hispanics. After killing her, he allegedly disposed of her body near the Ben Lomand turnoff near Santa Cruz, California. During this incident, Anderson stated he had been driving a black Toyota truck from his "Parts Company."
It should be noted that many people are skeptical about Anderson's confessions. Besides the lack of physical evidence, he was known to enjoy the notoriety he got for his crimes and enjoyed teasing and manipulating the police and the families of his victims. It is possible that this victim may not actually exist, and therefore, this is a false confession. Despite this possibility and his death in December 2007, the FBI is investigating his claims and is seeking information from the public.
