Unidentified Wiki

Ronald Louis[1] "Ronnie" Dodge was a man found murdered near the Soo Line railroad in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

He was identified in May 2024 after his brother stated Ronald had been missing since May 1993. Ronald was a member of the Menominee Nation, and law enforcement is now searching for suspects related to his case.

Case[]

On August 27, 1993, Dodge's body was found along the Soo Line railroad in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, near the Illinois border, later being determined to have been killed by a gunshot to the head. After investigators failed to identify him, he was buried in St. John's Cemetery in Randall, Wisconsin.

In 2014, his case was reopened with support from the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. Later, in 2017, Ronald's clay rendering was released to the public to assist with identification.

In 2020, the Kenosha County Medical Examiner's Office announced new DNA information. This new information suggested he may have had ties to the Catawba Nation of South Carolina and may have relatives in Sonora, Mexico. It was later determined that he had relatives in the Menominee Indian Tribe in Wisconsin.

In 2023, one of three surviving siblings, Aaron Dodge, came forward about his brother being missing since May 8, 1993, after viewing a press release with his brother's facial reconstruction attached. DNA samples were taken from Aaron and his sister, which led to Dodge's identification on May 31, 2024. His identity was released publicly two months later, on August 27, 2024, the 31st anniversary of his discovery.
