Rockland County John Doe was a man whose dismembered remains were discovered in 1976.
Case[]
On March 3, 1976, a motorist travelling along Route 17 in Ramapo, New York, discovered the body of a man in the nearby woods. His body was mutilated and his hands had been severed, and his body was bound with a cord.
There is a possibility his case is linked to the murders of two other people who were found dismembered in the nearby area, one of whom remains unidentified. The cord used to bind the man was noted as being similar to a cord found wrapped around the unidentified woman's ankle, but it is not known if they were confirmed to match.
