"Roberto Avendano" was the possible name of a possible undocumented immigrant man who was found in Abingdon, Virginia. He had worked at various dairy farms.
Case[]
On October 8, 2017, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office executed a search for drugs in a rural home in Abingdon, Virginia. Roberto was at the residence and ran towards an outbuilding when deputies arrived. He barricaded himself in the outbuilding for several hours and finally emerged, allegedly wielding a machete at the deputies and they shot him. In the aftermath, an ounce of meth and cocaine were found in the house. It appears Roberto Avendado was a fake name and authorities could find no information on him.
