Robert "Robbie" Thompson was a boy whose skeleton was found lodged in the chimney of an abandoned house in 2005. The house was occupied as a halfway house for recovering drug addicts in the past.
He was identified in December of that year when his mother called in and suggested he was a match.
Case[]
Robbie was a boy with a developmental disability; he was 14 years old but had the cognitive abilities of a 6-year-old. He vanished on Christmas Eve of 1977, when his sister's boyfriend, Theodoric Smith, stayed with the family. On Christmas Morning, no one could locate Robbie. In February 1985, Robbie's brother, Smith, then 13, was raped by Theodoric. Theodoric then hit him with his car and left him for dead. Smith survived and was able to recount the ordeal, revealing that Theodoric told him he had murdered Robbie. He was sentenced to 30 years for the crime but did not reveal any more information about Robbie's death.
In 2005, the skeleton of a boy in his early teens was pulled from the chimney of an abandoned building formerly used as a halfway house. This was just blocks away from the home Robbie Thompson disappeared from. His mother saw a news broadcast about this and called in. Her DNA was taken and compared with the skeleton, which revealed him to be Robbie Thompson. Theodoric is the likely suspect in his death.
