Not to be confused with Rachel Ann Doe.
"Rachel Marie Doe" was the nickname given to an infant found along the center stripe of County Route 14, 1.5 miles east of US Route 65 in Blaine, Minnesota, on January 21, 1983. Her identification was publicly announced by Othram in November 2025.
Case[]
The infant was born full term and still had the placenta attached, but an autopsy could not determine whether she was born alive. She appeared to have been run over by a vehicle, but it was unclear whether this was the cause of death or if she was deceased before being struck.
Anoka County authorities submitted a sample to Othram in 2024 for genetic genealogical research. This resulted in the identification of the baby's biological parents.
Police interviewed her mother in July 2025, who stated that she gave birth to the baby at her parents' house as a teenager, but abandoned it by the road in panic as it was unresponsive and she believed it was stillborn. She also stated that she had never told anyone about the pregnancy.
The baby's biological father was also interviewed, but claimed to have had no knowledge of the baby's existence, nor of the mother being pregnant.
Anoka County Sheriff's Department did not file charges as the manner of death could not be determined, and the statute of limitations had expired for any charges relating to the disposal of human remains.
