"Poker Jim" was the nickname for an elderly Chinese immigrant who passed away at Deer Lodge, Montana. He had acquired his nickname from being an established poker player.
"Poker Jim" came along with the first white miners to Blackfoot City and remained there panning for gold until he was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital at Deer Lodge to be cared for by the county. In addition to being a notable poker player, he was said to be one of the best miners who ever struck at Blackfoot City.
After his death, he was buried at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Deer Lodge.
