The female was found near an intersection in a wooded area by a hiker. It appeared the site was a dumping ground, as trash was observed at the scene. A blanket was near the remains, although it is not specified if it has relevance to the case.
An autopsy failed to uncover the exact cause of the woman's death, although it was concluded she died at least a year before she was discovered. Authorities weren't sure whether she died where she was found, or elsewhere and left at the scene. She was initially estimated to have a shorter age range between 18 and 22.
