Albert Edwin "Pinky" Roadhs, known by the alias "Bill Lee Hull" while unidentified, was a man who died under a stolen identity in Indiana in 2012.

He was identified by Moxxy Forensic Investigations in June 2023.

Background[]

Roadhs was born on March 15, 1932 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Archived arrest and newspaper records showed that Roadhs had a criminal record beginning in childhood consisting of petty crime and felonies before becoming involved with a gang known as the "Shotgun Bandits". The Shotgun Bandits committed a series of stick-ups between October and November of 1955 in Denver, Colorado, before being apprehended. Roadhs was sentenced to 10 to 15 years for his crimes. Shortly after his release, he was caught breaking into a warehouse alongside two other individuals in Longview, Washington on June 4, 1966. He was once again entenced to 10 to 15 years in September 1967.  Roadhs' whereabouts between September 1967 and 1987 remain unknown.

Case[]

During 1987, Roadhs met a woman named Bessie Fields at the Bushwacker Lounge in Tucson, Arizona. At the time, Roadhs introduced himself as "Bill Lee Hull". The pair moved in together and resided in Tucson for over twenty years before relocating to Salem, Indiana. Bessie passed away on April 11, 2009, at the age of 77.

In December 2011, Roadhs moved into a converted garage behind the main residence of one of Bessie’s family members, where he would later be found deceased.

Roadhs had previously indicated that he was born in Larimer County, Colorado and that he had spent time in Arkansas at one point.

Further investigation reveals that Roadhs had once attempted to sign up for social security benefits. The administration discovered that he was using someone else's social security number. Roadhs was unable to provide any documentary proof of his identity, including his birth certificate or his mother's maiden name.

Identification[]

In early 2023, the remains were exhumed in hopes that genealogical testing conducted by Moxxy Forensic Investigations would uncover the man’s identity. Using the man’s femur, DNA was extracted and then input into a DNA kit that was uploaded onto GEDMatch. Once the DNA kit finished uploading, it took less than 30 minutes for the team of genealogists to identify a potential candidate.

Upon identification, it was discovered that several personal details that Roadhs revealed about his life were correct.

Characteristics[]

  • Balding gray hair.
  • Blue eyes.
  • A surgical scar on the outside of his lower left leg.
  • A tattoo of the word "Pinky" in blue ink on his left forearm, which has since been determined to have been a street name used by Roadhs.
  • Fingerprints were removed, presumably by Roadhs in an attempt to conceal his identity.
