
Penrose John Doe was a man whose remains were found across New South Wales, Australia, in 1997.
In April 2022, a $500,000 AUD reward was offered for information leading to his identity or his murder.
Case[]
On 21 February 1997, the decedent's naked body was discovered in the Paddy's River on the southern side of the Hume Highway in Penrose, New South Wales. He had been weighed down and decapitated at the base of the neck.
Around the same time, a shopping bag containing a human head was discovered in Salt Pan Creek, Padstow. The head was later confirmed to match the remains found in Penrose.
A 1999 coronial inquest found that his estimated date of death was around 20 February 1997, and he was strangled.
His dental records show he may have spent his youth overseas.
