"Penny Doe" was a woman found murdered in Monroe Township, Pennsylvania, in 1990. 13 women have been ruled out as the decedent.

Case[]

On July, 22, 1990 the decomposed body of a woman was found by teenagers who were crossing under a railroad trestle looking for berries. She was lying face down in a stream bed by road 535 in a remote area of Monroe township approximately three miles south of Interstate 80. The teenagers initially believed that she was a deer before realizing that they had found a human body.

Authorities believe that there are individuals in Clarion County who had contact with Penny Doe before her death and who can identify her and her killer. However, they do not believe that she was originally from the County she was found in and suspect that she may have been brought to the area by a local individual. Additionally, they believe she was in Clarion County for at most a month before she was killed.

On Sunday, May, 27 there was a concert that 5100 people attended about 15 miles from where Penny Doe was found. However, there is nothing to indicate that she attended the concert.

In the summer of 2003, authorities received an anonymous letter about Penny Doe. In response, law enforcement sent out a plea for the author to contact them. The author never responded.
