Background[]

Patrick Spann was last seen using his real name in 1998 while serving a two-year prison sentence for cocaine possession at Hinds County detention facility in Raymond, Mississippi.

Case[]

The remains of a white male were located by hunters near railroad tracks in a rural area of Blount County, Alabama, in 2005. A gunshot wound had killed him, although it was unclear whether it was a suicide or homicide.

A firearm and a driver's license belonging to a female were recovered with the decedent. The woman listed on the driver's license was interviewed and revealed that her partner, Chad Patrick Singleton, had taken her identification and abruptly vanished a year prior. Further investigation revealed that the actual Chad Patrick Singleton died in 1995.

In 2024, Moxxy Forensic Investigations took DNA samples from a daughter he fathered under the alias of Chad Singleton, which later allowed them to locate a son fathered under his real name over a decade earlier and confirm his identity in February 2025.
