Përmet John Doe was a man whose skeletal remains were found in Përmet, on the banks of the Vjosa River. Only his skull and lower limbs, along with some clothing, were recovered. Police believe that the decedent had likely drowned a few months prior in neighboring Greece and that the Vjosa River carried him into Albania. Based on the decedent's clothes, police believed he was from a third-world country, theorizing that he may be a Syrian refugee or asylum seeker.
