Nicole Weis was a woman who was found in San Diego, California on January 24, 2000.

She was identified through forensic genealogy in 2020.

Case

Not much is known about Nicole's life. She lost contact with her family in the late 1990s when she moved to Los Angeles, California from Michigan.

Nicole's bound body was discovered in a burning cardboard box that was placed in a church parking lot.

At her autopsy, it was determined she had been strangled, in addition to being stabbed multiple times. Her killer or killers had made efforts to conceal her identity by severing her hands and a portion of her left calf, where a tattoo or identifying mark may have been.
