The woman's bound body was discovered in a burning cardboard box that was placed in a church parking lot.

At her autopsy, it was determined she had been strangled, in addition to being stabbed multiple times. Her killer or killers had made efforts to conceal her identity by severing her hands and a portion of her left calf, where a tattoo or identifying mark may have been.
