New York Jane Doe was a woman whose torso was found in a plastic bag in the Hudson River in New York City. She was misidentified as Rita Fioretti, a missing woman who was believed to have been murdered by her husband, in September 1988. However, in 1991 she was proven not to be Rita after a blood comparison with her son.
