Nelson County Jane Doe was a woman found in 1969. She was a victim of Hurricane Camille.
Case[]
The victim was discovered in Rockfish River a mile below Woods Mill after Hurricane Camille hit. Hurricane Camille was a Category 5 hurricane that hit the Gulf and Eastern US Coast and killed 259 people, including six more unidentified people in Nelson County, an unidentified man in Albermarle County, Virginia, and three unidentified women in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
As the community of Nelson County, Virginia was described as "close-knit", authorities speculated the unidentified victims could be migrant workers between jobs. Four of the eight (unspecified which ones) had beans in their stomach, which made Dr. Robert Raynor conclude, "Four of the eight ate supper together."
Characteristics[]
