Muskogee County John Doe was a man who was discovered in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on September 17, 1979.
Case[]
The victim was discovered by arrowhead hunters near a water treatment plant approximately one tenth of a mile east of the plant and three hundred and forty feet north of Hancock street.
His skeletal remains were scattered and most of the upper body, one or both hands, and both feet were missing. The body had also been ravaged by animal activity.
The victim's skull had a large hole on the right side of the skull slightly above the ear area. Twenty yards away, three spent 0.410 shells were found, but no weapon was found at the scene. It is not stated if the hole in the skull was caused by gunshots.
Additionally, a large mixed-breed dog was also found dead in the area. It's unknown if there is a connection between the dog and the victim.
His dental records and DNA are available, but his DNA has not yet been submitted as of 2019.
