Mountain City John Doe was a man found deceased in Mountain City, Tennessee, in 1977.
He is currently undergoing testing by Othram.
Case[]
The decedent is believed to have come from a boarding house for homeless men run by Lee Cohen in the Shady Mountain Orchid. An investigation discovered that Lee was keeping them in terrible conditions and stealing money from them. He reportedly cruised the streets and offered homeless men a place to live in exchange for any social security benefits they claimed. When police came to do a further search of the home in October 1977, they could not locate any of the 30 residents. Upon the discovery of this decedent, police raised suspicions that he is one of the missing men.
Cohen was originally from New Jersey, and so did many of the men at his home. Some of the men were purportedly from Baltimore, Philadelphia, or New York. Cohen claimed that the men had disappeared after drugs were planted in the home and had headed to different places in the United States, but his claims have never been substantiated and they have never been located.
