Michael Sidney Hill (April 28, 1937 - February 25, 2013) was a man who was pronounced dead at a friend's house in Phoenix, Arizona, while visiting him from the UK in 2013.
He was identified in June 2025 by Ramapo College.
Case[]
Hill had come to Phoenix to visit a friend who was also from the United Kingdom and had not seen him for about 20 years. He didn't have any belongings besides the clothes he was wearing. He left his friend's house and returned four hours later, with his clothes soiled. The friend threw away his old clothes and gave him pajamas. Hill then claimed he wasn't feeling well and laid down in a guest bedroom. He began to convulse a short time later and went unresponsive afterwards. Paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Hill had no formal identification with him at the time of his death and all his close relatives had predeceased him. His friend provided authorities with his correct name and birthdate. However, investigators struggled to use this information in generating valuable leads until DNA sequencing done by Parabon Nanolabs and genealogical research conducted by Ramapo College, Sheffield Hallam University, and Silverwell Research located two first cousins once removed whose DNA was used to confirm the match.
