Mexico City John Doe was a man who was found hanged in a rooftop room at the Tyrrhenian Sea hotel in Mexico City, Mexico. He is a confirmed victim of "El Estragulador Solitario", translated as "The Solitary Strangler", a killer who targeted suspected homosexual men between 1969 and 1970 in Mexico City. Few details are available in his case.
Case[]
From 1969 to 1970, 15 men described as being suspected of being homosexuals would be found strangled to death with a belt in various hotel rooms around Mexico City, Mexico, after checking into the same rooms they would be killed in. They were occasionally accompanied by a man described as being tall and young, with one victim having been seen paying for sexual favors from male sex workers and another being openly homosexual. It is suspected that many of the victims were secretive about their identities due to the prejudice homosexual men faced at the time with the killer being suspected of attempting to repress his sexuality. The killer has never been detained and Mexico City Police have not given any updates in the case since the death of the final victim in 1970.
On the 13th of February, 1970, a man was found hanging in one of the rooftop rooms at the Tyrrhenian Sea hotel in Mexico City. His death was quickly ruled a homicide and attributed to the work of "El Stragulador Solitario", though no further information on his discovery was ever released to the public. He was the second-to-last victim of the serial killer before he went dormant.
