Mark Austin Dunne (born May 18, 1992) was a man whose remains were found in a tent in a makeshift encampment on Mt. Elden near Flagstaff, Arizona.
He was identified via genetic genealogy in May 2024 with the assistance of Intermountain Forensics.
Dunne was a native of Phoenix. His family reported him missing to the police in March 2017 after he had not contacted them for some time. It is not known when he arrived in the Flagstaff area; however, an investigation of the site where he was found indicated he had been camping there for some time.
Characteristics[]
- Brown/blonde shaggy hair.
- Spine had multiple malformations that could have cause the subject's torso to bend to the right, walk with a limp, or experience chronic pain.
- Several characteristic rib malformations that would be visible on x-ray but would be asymptomatic.
