On May 9, 2011, a man by the name of "Manuel Calderon" from Texas died of natural causes at the Winsor El Camino Care Center in Carmichael, California. During fingerprint analysis, it was discovered that the man had assumed the identity before 1989 and was under investigation for collecting health care under false declaration, grand theft, and identity theft.
An investigation by the Department of Health in 2010 found the man's real name sounded close to "Carlos Flotte," his parent's names, and that a brother or other close family members lived in Yuba City, California.
