Unidentified Wiki

Lori Anne Razpotnik, formerly known as Jane Doe B-17 or "Bones 17" and commonly listed as being discovered in 1986, was one of the Green River victims. Her remains were linked to skeletal parts located in February 1984.

She was identified by Parabon NanoLabs in December 2023. She was the second-to-last of the Green River victims to be identified, followed by Tammie Liles in January 2024.

Disappearance[]

After her identification in 2023, Razpotnik's family indicated that she had run away from home in 1982, when she was 15. An argument with her mother surrounding the expenses of caring for a horse is said to be what triggered the teen to leave. After reaching adolescence, negative changes in behavior became evident, as Rapotznik began having issues with instances of truancy and retail theft.

Investigation[]

Razpotnik's skeletal remains were found a few years after her murder. It has not been released what the exact cause of death was, although the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway, admitted responsibility for her death and placing her remains near other victims in close proximity to a cemetery. The first portion of remains were discovered in February 1984; more were located in early 1986.

Although Ridgway's credibility is disputed, he claimed she died between the spring and summer of 1983. Additionally, he did occasionally mistake one victim with another when questioned about the identity and other details when questioned about the young women he had murdered.

Eventual isotope testing suggested that she was from one of the states of Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and North Dakota. Other locations pointed to the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador. However, it was ultimately discovered that she was local to Washington state.

Phenotype testing was also performed on a DNA sample, which was submitted to the Parabon NanoLabs. The results predicted various physical traits that were previously impossible to estimate. As a result, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children updated their 2006 facial approximation to reflect these findings.

Characteristics[]

  • Several fillings in her teeth.
  • DNA phenotyping indicated the victim had naturally blond hair, possibly blue or green eyes and a light complexion.
