Linn County Jane Doe was a woman whose skull was found in a wooded area off of US Route 20 in eastern Linn County, Oregon. [1]
Case[]
The victim is one of several women who were found dead or had disappeared near Highway 20 in Linn County, whose cases are possibly connected. Their collective cases are usually referred to as "The Ghosts of Highway 20". The only other unidentified victim is Swamp Mountain Jane Doe, found in 1976. They are suspected to have been killed by a man named John Ackroyd, who worked as a roadside mechanic. He was convicted of the 1990 murder of his stepdaughter in 2013 and is the prime suspect in these cases.
When this victim was found, she was speculated to be the missing woman Karen Jean Lee, but this has not been confirmed.
