Lea County John Doe is an American servicemen who died in 1918 due to the Great Flu Pandemic.

At an unknown point in 1918, a man in a military uniform stopped by the home of Jim and Mary Baker in Lea County, New Mexico. The Bakers gave the man a meal and permission for him to sleep in their barn overnight. The man was sick with the H1N1 influenza A virus, which at the time infected a third of the planet's population (500 million) and killed 17 to 100 million people between 1918 and 1920. He was too sick to give the Bakers any details about himself and passed away overnight.

The man was then buried in Block E of Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, which is three miles west of the New Mexico and Texas State line about sixteen miles northeast of Lovington, New Mexico. After vandals stole his headstone multiple times, a man named Paul A. Zielinski paid for his current headstone.
