Case[]
In 1860, a woman arrived in Aurora, Nevada. She was of mixed Native American descent and claimed to be the daughter of the famous mountaineer Kit Carson. Known for her intelligence and education, she became a prominent figure in the town, earning the nickname "Kit Carson." She lived in Aurora until her death in 1865 due to complications related to alcohol consumption, often referred to as "intemperance." She was buried in an unmarked grave at Aurora Cemetery.
Kit Carson, the mountaineer, was married three times. Two of his wives were Native Americans, and he had eleven known children. At the time of Jane Doe's death, Carson was still alive, but it is unclear whether he was ever informed of her death or confirmed as her father.
