Unidentified Wiki

Jerry David Holbert was a man who drowned in the Holston River in Kingsport, Tennessee.

He was identified in 2020.

Case[]

Jerry was reported missing in August 2003 after he failed to arrive in Ohio. He is believed to have left his residence in Charleston, West Virginia, and boarded a bus headed for Ohio, possibly in the Cambridge area.

At the time of his disappearance, Jerry was suffering from dementia and it is believed he became disoriented. On August 11, his body was recovered from the Holston River in Kingsport, Tennessee. Investigators found no signs of foul play and suspect his body floated to the location from upstream.

It remains unclear how Jerry ended up in Tennessee, especially since the Holston River does not run through West Virginia, suggesting that he did not die there.
