Jefferson County John Doe was a man who was found murdered along an access road in Washington Township, Pennsylvania, in 1986.
Case[]
The victim was discovered near an abandoned strip mine in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, on July 25, 1986. The site was just north of LR-33044, Washington Township. His remains were lying face up, approximately 20 to 30 feet east of the access road. His skull was located approximately 5 to 10 feet north of his torso. The victim's right hand was missing, and the fingers from his left hand had been removed.
Evidence at the scene indicated his body was brought to the site after death. Several pieces of burned material were found near his head. A piece of electrical wire was found around his neck. The clothing found with the victim appeared to have been placed at his head and burned in an attempt to prevent further identification.
