Jefferson County John Doe was a man whose remains were discovered following an anonymous tip in 2007.
Case[]
Following an anonymous tip, investigators discovered the skeletal remains of a man who had been beaten in February 2007 within the 2000 block of Vanderbilt Road in Birmingham. The remains were located in a shallow grave situated behind an abandoned textile business, adjacent to train tracks.
The perpetrators revealed that the deceased was Black and claimed to have discarded his identification. Additionally, they mentioned that the victim had traveled to Birmingham by train from Texas. It is believed the victim was likely a transient.
