Agustin was originally from the Aldea Chinchilá municipality of the San Luis, Petén department of Guatemala. She disappeared on July 7, 2023, while visiting Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, just one day before her body was found. Prior to her disappearance, she had mentioned to acquaintances that she wanted to cross into the U.S. through Texas, leading investigators to believe she was attempting to cross the border before she was identified.
