Jane Doe B-17, commonly listed as being discovered in 1986, is one of two unidentified Green River victims. It is said her remains were linked to skeletal parts located in February 1984. 19 women have been ruled out as being the decedent as of June 8, 2022.

The Jane Doe's skeletal remains were found a few years after her murder. It has not been released what the exact cause of death was, although the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway, admitted responsibility for her death and placing her remains near other victims in close proximity to a cemetery.

Although Ridgway's credibility is disputed, he claimed she died between the spring and summer of 1983.

Eventual isotope testing pinpointed the Jane Doe's possible geographic locations to Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and North Dakota. She was also possibly from the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

  • The victim had several fillings in her teeth.
  • DNA phenotyping indicated the victim had naturally blond hair.
  • In addition, she also possibly had blue or green eyes and a light complexion.
