Janów Jane Doe was a woman whose remains were found alongside Janów John Doe in the Seret River near Janów, Galicia, Austrian Empire, which is now Dolyna, Ternopil Raion, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine.

Case[]

At the beginning of July 1845, the body of a woman was found floating in the Seret River near the small village of Janów, Galicia, Austrian Empire. Very little information was reported about her, except that she was estimated to have been about 46 years old and was not from the area. Her manner of death was not reported, but it was determined that she had likely drowned.

Two months earlier, a young man, Janów John Doe, had been found floating in the same stretch of river. The parish linked the two cases, but it is unknown if they were related or known to one another.

She was buried in the Roman Catholic graveyard at Janów on 9 July 1845. It is unknown if she or her possible companion were ever formally identified.
