James William Hare was a man found deceased by a water vendor in a motel room in Salome, Arizona.

He was identified by DNAhawkshaw Genetic Genealogy in September 2024. The room had been reserved under the name "James Hare," which was previously thought to be an alias. However, genetic genealogy analysis and comparison of fingerprint records revealed that "James Hare" was indeed his real name.

Hare was born in 1923. He enlisted in the US Coast Guard in 1941, possibly while living in Moore, Texas.
