Järva John Doe was an elderly man whose body was discovered in a forest in Järva, Sweden. Few details are available about his case.
Case[]
On February 28, 1899, a police deputy entered a forest in Solna, Järva, Sweden, near the Ritorp Estate. While in the forest, he stumbled upon the dead body of a man. When examined, the corpse was found to be in an advanced state of decomposition. His jacket was found lying on his chest, and all of his clothes were unbuttoned. The police found no sign of foul play and determined that the man was probably elderly before his death due to his gray hair. Nothing was found by police that could be used to identify him, and he was taken to the Solna Hospital, where it was determined that he had likely been dead since the summer of 1898 and that he was estimated to be around 65 years old. No autopsy was ever conducted.
In early 1899, there were reports of a series of assaults carried out by youth gangs in the forest. However, nothing came of this lead.
He was buried on March 28, 1899, as "An unknown man". The local priest decided to inscribe him into the ledger and mark him as a parish resident.
