Irondequoit Jane Doe was a teenager or young woman who was found buried behind a property in Irondequoit, New York, on July 31, 1988. At least 31 people have been ruled out as being the decedent.
She is currently undergoing testing by the DNA Doe Project.
Case[]
The decedent was found buried in a shallow grave behind 130 Bay Knoll Drive by a young boy who was digging at the rear of his property. She had been buried head-first, approximately two or three feet deep, in a hunched position.
She had died several years prior to her discovery, as early as the late 1950s and as late as 1978. This was, in part, indicated by the dental work completed on her teeth.
There were no signs of trauma on her body, yet authorities concluded her death was suspicious based on the circumstances of recovery.
Characteristics[]
- Slightly overlapping front teeth.
- Extensive dental work:
- Gold foil dental restorations at teeth #7, #8, #9, and #10.
