Case[]
On the 31st of October, 2021, Singh left his home in the Mugalchak village of Tarn Taran only to never return. His wife, Manpreet Kaur, filed him as a missing person with the Jhabal police, noting him to be mentally unstable and addicted to drugs. The next day, a man's body was found in the village of Chabba, 22.5 kilometers away from Mugalchak, though the body was cremated 3 days later after it was unable to be identified. Kaur was not notified of the discovery and it is unknown if the Jhabal police were informed of the discovery due to the proximity to Mugalchak.
Six months later, authorities obtained a photograph showing Singh being held captive by unidentified people. It is unknown how the photo came into police possession, though Kaur identified the man in the photo as her husband. Following the discovery, police identified the body discovered in Chabba as Singh's, noting the presence of injuries on his body during his autopsy. The authorities are now investigating his death as a homicide and attempting to identify his captors in the photo.
