Unidentified Wiki

Garnett Jane Doe was an elderly woman who was part of a group of refugees that a man named John Horn rescued from Missouri in 1864. She died of fright because she feared Bushwhackers would invade and take her back to Missouri. She was without clothing, so she was buried in Horn's Army overcoat at the Springfield Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas. She was known to live in a hut on a Thompson Hill, but it's unclear if this was before or after the rescue.
