Franklin D. Feldman was a man found in Delmar, New York.
He was identified by Othram Inc. in January 2022.
Case[]
Franklin's body was found in a field adjacent to a public park. No cause of death was determined. He carried a notebook with lists of phone numbers, including those of soup kitchens and other homeless charities, as well as a newspaper dated January 1981. Despite possibly being homeless, his teeth were in excellent condition, and most of his clothes were brand new.
Investigators reopened the case in 2013 after finding his jawbone in the basement storage and doing DNA testing on it. However, at the time, they were forbidden from comparing his DNA with potential relatives.
In 2020, investigators were finally able to work with Othram to compare his DNA. They tracked down an aunt and a cousin in Massachusetts. One hadn't even met Franklin, and the other hadn't heard from him in many years before his speculated death. The Department of Social Security determined there was no record of his existence after 1980.
